4 Vehicle Crash Results in Death of Elderly Man

According to a tweet from the Bradenton Police Department, an elderly man passed away on Sunday as a result of a car accident. The incident involved two vehicles and took place at the intersection of Southern Parkway and 33rd Avenue Drive West at around 10:45 a.m.
The man made an improper left turn and collided with the other car. Unfortunately, he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and passed away in hospital from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver at fault was reportedly travelling at around 20 miles per hour, while the other driver was travelling at around 30 miles per hour.
BPD has stated that speed was not a factor in the crash, and officers found the man unconscious at the scene. EMS performed life-saving measures and transported him to hospital. The crash resulted in damage to a total of four vehicles. The victim’s name and age have not been disclosed, and no further information is available at this time.
