Driver arrested for DUI after deadly Manatee County crash

Manatee County, Fl.-A man died in a crash early Sunday morning, November 13th, in Manatee County on US-41 off of Braden Avenue.
According to FHP, a pickup truck was driving south on US-41 in the left turn lane. The driver approached the left curve in the road while the light was green at the intersection of Braden Ave.
Another pickup truck traveling north on US-41 in the center lane was nearing a right curve in the road while the light was also green at the Braden Ave. intersection.
The pickup truck traveling south attempted a left turn at the intersection to keep heading east on Braden Ave. However, the front of the pickup truck traveling north collided with the pickup truck trying to turn left.
After the collision, the pickup truck that attempted to turn left entered the northbound shoulder of US-41 and crashed into a traffic signal pole.
The other pickup truck rotated and came to a stop within the intersection.
The front-seat passenger, a 39-year-old man, in the pickup truck that hit the traffic pole was transported with serious injuries and later pronounced dead at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
The pickup truck driver that hit the traffic pole was transported to an area hospital with severe injuries with charges pending.
The driver of the other pickup truck was arrested for driving under the influence and with a suspended license.
