Fatal Collision Claims Life of Wesley Chapel Woman in Tragic Accident, Reports FHP

Manatee County, Fl. – A tragic incident unfolded on Friday afternoon as a Wesley Chapel woman lost her life in a collision with a semi-truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The FHP report indicates that the 39-year-old woman was traveling northbound on U.S. 301, south of McIntosh Road, in her sedan when, for reasons yet unknown, she veered into the opposing lane of traffic.
Regrettably, the woman’s vehicle collided nearly head-on with a southbound semi-truck, resulting in her fatality at the crash site, as confirmed by FHP.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m.
The 45-year-old male driver of the semi-truck, hailing from Inverness, fortunately remained uninjured.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident, as per FHP’s preliminary findings.
At this time, the FHP has not disclosed any additional details concerning the circumstances that led the woman to cross into oncoming traffic.
