Manatee County Crash Results in Ejection and Fatality of 20-Year-Old, Reports FHP

MANATEE COUNTY, Fl.-According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a fatal accident occurred on Tuesday evening, February 28th, in Manatee County, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old man. The crash happened on U.S. 41 near 37th Street Court East, around 5:45 p.m. The young man was driving north in the left lane of U.S. 41, heading towards the entrance ramp of the US-41 Business Route, when he lost control of his vehicle.

The car veered across the right lane and went into the grass gore before rotating and flipping over onto the entrance ramp, where it hit the back left side of an SUV. Sadly, the driver was ejected from the car and suffered critical injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he did not survive. The SUV’s 58-year-old driver and her 56-year-old passenger had minor injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
