Tragic 7-Vehicle Collision Claims Lives of Woman and 7-Year-Old in Manatee County

Manatee County, Fl.— A devastating seven-vehicle accident in Manatee County has resulted in the loss of two lives, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident unfolded at approximately 9:45 p.m. when a car rear-ended another vehicle while both were traveling north on US-301 toward Tallevast Road.
This initial collision set off a chain reaction, causing the first car to collide with four other vehicles.
Troopers have indicated that the second vehicle, which was occupied by a 38-year-old woman and a 7-year-old boy from Ellenton, was propelled into a right turn lane where it collided with another car and subsequently overturned.
Tragically, the woman and child did not survive the collision.
In addition to this heartbreaking loss, three other individuals sustained injuries during the accident. According to the FHP, the driver of the first vehicle, a 25-year-old Sarasota man, suffered severe injuries.
The circumstances leading to this devastating crash are currently under investigation, with authorities diligently working to uncover all pertinent details.
