Tragic Collision Claims Life of 81-Year-Old Sarasota Woman on US-41

SARASOTA, FL – An 81-year-old woman lost her life in a collision on Thursday night in Sarasota, as confirmed by investigators.
According to troopers, the incident occurred as the woman was traveling west on the driveway access of a business located at 8431 North Tamiami Trail, approaching the intersection with US-41, at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Simultaneously, a 57-year-old Bradenton man was approaching Seagate Drive in his SUV, navigating in the middle lane of US-41, as reported by officials.
The tragic turn of events unfolded when the 81-year-old woman entered the path of the other driver as she merged onto the highway. The front of the Bradenton man’s car collided with the left side of the woman’s vehicle.
Tragically, the Sarasota woman was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Meanwhile, an 84-year-old Nokomis woman, who was a passenger in the SUV, sustained minor injuries, according to authorities.
It was also reported that the Bradenton man suffered minor injuries in the collision.
The investigation into this unfortunate incident is currently ongoing, as confirmed by troopers.
