Tragic Outcome: Bicyclist Fatally Injured in Accident on John Ringling Causeway

SARASOTA, Fl. – In the aftermath of a recent collision near Bird Key and the John Ringling Causeway, the Sarasota Police Department has solemnly confirmed the passing of the bicyclist involved in the incident due to the injuries sustained.

SPD issued an alert at 11 p.m. last night, notifying residents of a collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist that resulted in a detour on Sunset Drive. While eastbound traffic remained accessible, westbound lanes were temporarily closed until 2 a.m. when normal traffic flow resumed.

According to SPD, the driver of the vehicle notified authorities about the incident.
