Venice woman struck by car while mowing grass

VENICE, Fla — A woman was struck by a car and hurt while mowing grass at her home, Venice police said.

Officers said a blue Mustang on East Venice Avenue went off the roadway and struck the 59-year-old woman shortly before 5 p.m. Friday, September 2nd.

The woman was flown to a hospital and is in critical condition.

Police are detaining the driver of the Mustang as part of the investigation.

Both eastbound East Venice Avenue lanes at Venetian Parkway were shut down for investigation.
